Who We Are

Fix My Home Right is made by Esmeralda and Rolando Cornejo of Top Rank ROI LLC, a small California company. We explain home repair, maintenance and upgrades (leaks, windows, doors, shades, older-home renovation, lawns and trees) using official sources such as the EPA, ENERGY STAR, the U.S. Department of Energy and the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and we tell you when a job belongs to a licensed pro.

Why we made this site

Most homeowners learn about repairs when something breaks: a running toilet, a drafty door, a window that fogs up, a tree limb over the roof. The good, free answers exist, but they are spread across federal agencies, state contractor boards and utility programs, and much of the advice online comes from companies selling the fix. We built Fix My Home Right to put the checks and the decisions in order, and to point to the source that actually backs each step.

What we cover

• Maintenance: a seasonal checklist, smoke alarms, finding and fixing water leaks.
• Upgrades: replacement windows, door weatherstripping, cordless blinds and shades, and renovating older homes that may have lead paint.
• Outside: watering a lawn, caring for trees and calling 811 before you dig.
• Hiring help: getting bids, checking a license, reading the contract and paying in stages.

What we don’t do

• We don’t inspect homes or give advice for your specific house. We explain the checks and link the source; a licensed pro can look at your situation.
• We don’t sell repairs, take referral fees from contractors, or rank local companies.
• We don’t promise savings or results. When a source gives a number, we quote it with the source and the date we checked it.
• When we mention our own company’s services, we label it plainly as our own.

Our mission

We only speak the truth. We only help within the category we cover. We always cite our sources, and we’re friendly and easy to do business with. Our objective is to help you find a better alternative, or to confirm that your present choice is already your best choice. We’re creative in how we explain things, but we never exaggerate: we say only what’s true, and nothing misleading or unverified.

How we use AI here

We use AI tools to help research, outline and draft. A person checks every fact against its source before anything is published, and each guide lists its sources with the date we checked them. Our pictures were made with an AI image tool (Runway) and are labeled “Illustrative image”; they don’t show a real home, product, brand or person.
